Lumpyvax is a live attenuated Neethling-type virus vaccine (SIS strain) for the prophylactic immunization of cattle against Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD), an eruptive viral disease causing nodules, reduced production, and economic losses. It induces immunity starting approximately 10 days post-vaccination, lasting up to 1 year, with annual boosters recommended. Administered subcutaneously; safe for all ages, including pregnant cows, and provides maternal immunity via colostrum in calves.
